Draisin recumbent trike

This recumbent tricycle adopts the conventional arrangement of two wheels at the rear. However, as with most recumbents the low centre of gravity ensures good stability. The trike is produced by German manufacturer Draisin. Their multilingual website has a lot of good detail about their product range.

Dean was the gymnast/dancer at the Millennium Dome who broke his neck when forced to do a routine that he was not happy with. He's been working hard to get back the use of his arms and has his own hand cycle. However he was amazed (as were the rest of us) when he managed to ride the Draisin, which is equipped with calliper pedals to support the rider's legs.

Dean has amazing determination - last time we saw him he was standing up and able to take a few steps, supported by the Arena railings.
